Greater Hope Ministries was birthed from both passion and frustration with the status quo of traditional counselling services.
As individuals who have personally overcome significant life challenges, we are passionate about breaking destructive cycles and restoring fresh hope. Our tagline, "Recovering Lost Hope, Purpose, and Plans," reflects our mission to help others experience the same freedom we have found.
Meet Our Founder: Brydie
Brydie, our founder, served as a school chaplain and counsellor for 17 years in a nonprofit organization. Through this experience, she witnessed the gaps and struggles within the community service sector—particularly the lack of a holistic approach that considers body, mind, soul, and spirit.
While she values the role of counselling and psychoeducation in providing practical tools for freedom, she knows that healing is incomplete without faith. She, along with like-minded colleagues from the community service sector, believed it was essential to share their lived experiences and testimonies of Jesus’ transformative power.
Having a deep conviction, that her personal relationship with Jesus Christ was a key element of overcoming unhealthy cycles, Brydie felt called to create a counselling service that could be open and transparent about faith while still respecting clients' individual needs and rights to their own beliefs.
This conviction led to the founding of Greater Hope Ministries—a space where individuals can receive support tailored to their needs. Clients are not required to incorporate faith into counselling if they do not desire christian integration into their counselling and support. Our ministry at its core foundation however is committed in its belief that...

Our mission is to openly share what God has done in our lives so that if people are seeking the hope and love of God, we can shine a light towards it.
Meet the Team
We are a team of passionate individuals who have experienced God’s power in our own lives and are committed to sharing that hope with others.
Just as the woman at the well in Luke 4 was able to go back to her town and share how Jesus intervened personally into her life, we have a beautiful team of individuals passionate to share the good things Jesus has done in us.
Brydie
Founder
Brydie's journey has been one of transformation. Though she was raised in a Christian home, she strayed down a dark path that led to depression, substance abuse, and near destruction. It was only through God’s supernatural intervention and the prayers of her mother that she found freedom.
A pivotal moment came when she had an incredible supernatural encounter on the night she planned to end her life. This encounter changed her forever, leading her to dedicate her life to helping others find freedom and hope.
With a successful career as a School Chaplain (10 years) and a counselor (7 years), specializing in domestic violence, sexual assault, and trauma, Brydie brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work.
Shanella
Team Member
Shanella also experienced a season of deep struggle. During a dark time of relational breakdown and personal hardship, she turned to destructive choices. One night, at rock bottom, she cried out to God—and He answered.
Though she didn’t grow up in a Christian home, she had invited Jesus into her heart as a child. In her lowest moment, she realized she needed His help to turn her life around. Today, Shanella is passionate about encouraging others, especially young people, to recognize God’s good plan for their lives.
With a background in youth justice and community work, Shanella brings wisdom, encouragement, and a heart to see people restored. Her enthusiasm will inspire any group to consider where Jesus fits into their world.
Mel
Team Member
Mel has a background in Community Services, School Chaplaincy and is a Christian Naturopath. Mel found her peace in life after seeking many alternative spiritual pathways and then supernaturally came to find Jesus as the way, the truth, the life.
Mel has a big heart and cares for those who society may have given up on. Mel is passionate to share the love and hope of Jesus Christ with the world around her.
